Class 2

Class 2 Teacher

Mrs Robinson is the teacher in Class 2. She has a love for David Walliams stories and enjoys reading these to her class.

School P.E. days

This term we are replacing our P.E sessions with Forest School which will take place on Wednesdays. Children need to come to school on Wednesdays wearing their Forest School clothes which they will stay in for the day.

For safety reasons, children need to be wearing long sleeves and long trousers even on warm days. Please also ensure your child comes with clothing appropriate for the weather: trainers, waterproofs, sunhats, suncream. Wellies can be brought in a separate bag and left on the welly racks outside class to avoid getting mud inside. Please note that in the Winter time, children will need layers and warm clothing as we go out in snow and frost! A snack (no nuts), as well as their water bottle, is encouraged as we are
outside for two hours in all weathers (unless dangerous weather conditions eg strong winds).

Welcome to Class 2

This term we will be out and about around Godmanchester for our science, geography and maths learning as well as getting to enjoy Forest School sessions. We have lots of exciting new topics including habitats around the world in science, exploring the world in geography and learning about using paint techniques to create texture in art.

We will be continuing to follow Little Wandle for our reading and spelling lessons. If you would like more information on this and advice on how to support your child at home please visit the website using the link below.

Homework

Each week homework will be shared on Class Dojo.

Reading

We ask that children read at least 4 times a week for about 15 minutes each time. Reading regularly helps children with spelling, imagination and understanding. When your child reads please record this in their reading record.

Spellings

Each week spellings will be sent home for the week. These will be based on our phonics from the week.

Numbots

Numbots logins will be in the children's reading records. Regular practice will help with addition and subtraction. We recommend 25 minutes a week split into several short sessions.

Optional Maths

Children can take home maths practice sheets if they would like extra work linked to what we have been learning in class.
