Welcome to you all from St Anne’s PSFA Committee.

As you embark on a new school life for your children we thought it would be useful to let you know about us, the ways in which we contribute to the school and what to expect from us in your time at St Anne’s.

We will be holding our AGM in September where you will all be invited to meet some of the committee and find out where we are financially, in particular, where the money has, and will be, spent. It will also allow you to find out about joining the PSFA should you wish to come on board.

Who we are:

The PSFA is a registered charity made up of parents and staff representatives. All parents are automatically made members when joining the school and even if you do not sit on the committee there will be chances to volunteer and get involved throughout the year.

What do we do:

Raise funds by organising social events and activities that generate income for the school.

Types of events:

School disco, cake and second hand uniform sales, class assembly refreshments, family bingo evenings, film nights, scholastic book orders, summer fayre and other one-off events.

Other income generators such as ‘Bags 2 School’ happen throughout the year – we donate unwanted clothes and textiles and receive back funds determined by the weight of the bag collection.

How do you find out what is going on?

There is a PSFA notice board (inside the small gated enclosure adjacent to the main reception) where we advertise events. We also send Parent mail notices, mark events on the diary dates calendar or in the school newsletter, insert leaflets/cake plates in book bags, send event invitations on facebook and issue our own newsletters.

Where the money goes on an annual basis:

  • School Activity funds/Decoration day/school memory books/Class R party/ classroom donations.
  • Special fundraising projects – we are currently raising money for a Forest school area for outside learning.

Our past Successes:
We have successfully raised money to replace the Trim Trail which was installed in 2014 and the traversing wall in 2013  and contributed to the courtyard garden as well as our regular annual contributions (mentioned above).

Here is some further information that has already been circulated to parents/carers but will continue to feature in our campaigns and useful to keep for your future reference:

The PSFA’S 5 ways to make a difference:

 1. EASY FUNDRAISING

The easy fundraising scheme can be used when shopping online. Many retailers are included in this scheme and any purchases made via our scheme will generate money for the PSFA. So even when you do your weekly online grocery shop you could be generating money for the school! Please use the link below to find out which retailers are involved and how you can register.

 2. JUST GIVING

We have now successfully set up a ‘just giving’ account so if you cannot make an event run by the PSFA or forget your pennies for a cake sale then you can still make a donation. Why not mention it to family and friends who may be interested in our campaign and they can get on board too! Here is how to do it:

Text the message: PSFA22 and the amount you want to donate to 70070

 3. MATCHED GIVING

There are hundreds of companies throughout the UK, who offer their employees the chance to boost their individual fundraising efforts by 'matching' the money they raise for their chosen charity. Perhaps your company offers this scheme or has systems in place to donate to a charitable cause. We are a registered charity and we would be very happy to assist anyone who could offer this during one of our events.

Please contact us for further information.

 4. SOCIALISE

Whilst we are at it, let’s not forget to have some fun in our school community and meet up at one of our social events. We have our usual features in the calendar but we will try to include more family events so that the whole family can join in the fun. Please, if you have any suggestions of money making events, we would love to hear your ideas.

 5. VOLUNTEER

A great deal of work goes on behind the scenes to bring our events and activities to life, and being a small committee we value the additional help to allow us to offer refreshments or to facilitate our events for a more enjoyable experience. As parents, you are automatically members of the PSFA so your ideas and contributions are always welcome and valued.

But if you always fancied working a bar, serving hot dogs, being a bouncer in a disco, wearing an apron and serving cakes, look no further than a PSFA event! Try it once or help out regularly, we would love you on board!

Likewise, if you want to see money raised to support the school, and think you can offer your set of skills to help with fundraising, then the PSFA are always open to new committee members. Contact us to find out more.

There are a number of ways of contacting the PSFA:

·         Add St Anne’s PSFA to your Facebook account and keep up to date on our events and the money we raise: https://www.facebook.com/StAnnesGodmanchester?ref=ts&fref=ts

Offer suggestions/events or support via the PSFA RED LETTER BOX by the office reception window.
